Description
While biking and skiing in Gatineau Park, I often pass Lac Fortune. In 2016 I hiked around it for the first time and fell in love. I became absorbed in the cool streaks of shadows from the forest broken up by the gold bands of sunlight on the lily pads. In the top right of the painting, the trees part and I imagine floating deeper into the shadows of the forest. This painting is a reminder that beauty can be easily overlooked.
